A Transnational Virtual Network (TVN) refers to a decentralized group of individuals or entities that operate online across multiple countries. These networks are not bound by geographical borders and often use digital platforms, encrypted communications, and anonymizing technologies to coordinate activities. TVNs can be formed for various purposes, including legitimate collaboration or, in the context of cybersecurity, for illicit activities such as cybercrime, fraud, or digital activism. Their transnational nature allows members to evade traditional law enforcement efforts, making investigation and prosecution challenging. TVNs often exploit differences in international laws and jurisdictional gaps, leveraging the global reach of the internet to maintain anonymity and operational security.
