A Temporary Purpose Association (ATS) is a legal partnership established between two or more organizations for a specific project or objective, often in the context of public tenders or large-scale initiatives. ATS arrangements enable participants to pool resources, expertise, and capabilities to achieve a common goal that may be too complex or resource-intensive for a single entity. In cybersecurity, an ATS might be formed to address a large security compliance project, implement new technologies, or respond to a significant incident. Once the project concludes or the objective is met, the association is typically dissolved, making it a flexible and efficient collaboration model.
