A system restore point is a saved snapshot of a computer's system files, installed applications, Windows Registry, and system settings at a specific moment in time. Created automatically before significant system events, such as software installations or updates, or manually by users, restore points allow users to revert their system to a previous state if problems occur. This feature helps recover from system malfunctions, software conflicts, or malware infections without affecting personal files. However, system restore does not recover deleted personal data or undo changes to user documents. It is primarily a troubleshooting tool for resolving system instability or configuration errors.
