A Purple Team in cybersecurity represents a collaborative approach that merges the offensive strategies of Red Teams (attackers) with the defensive measures of Blue Teams (defenders). Instead of working in isolation, Purple Teams facilitate active communication and knowledge sharing between both groups to identify vulnerabilities and improve defenses more efficiently. This approach enhances overall security posture by ensuring that lessons learned from simulated attacks are directly used to strengthen detection, response, and prevention capabilities. Purple Teaming is not always a separate team; sometimes, it refers to a methodology or process where Red and Blue Teams work closely together to maximize the effectiveness of security operations and incident response.
