A Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is a type of automatic transmission commonly used in vehicles. Unlike traditional transmissions with a fixed number of gears, a CVT uses a system of pulleys and a belt or chain that allows for an infinite number of gear ratios within a range. This enables the engine to operate at its most efficient RPM for a range of vehicle speeds, optimizing fuel efficiency and providing smoother acceleration. While CVTs are mainly found in the automotive industry, the term is not related to cybersecurity but rather to mechanical engineering and automotive technology.
