A CRT monitor, or Cathode Ray Tube monitor, is an older type of computer display that uses a large, heavy glass tube. Inside, it fires streams of electrons at a phosphorescent screen to create images. CRT monitors were the standard for computers and televisions for decades before being replaced by thinner, lighter flat-panel displays like LCDs and LEDs. While they offer good color reproduction and viewing angles, CRTs are bulky, consume more power, and can emit more electromagnetic radiation compared to modern screens.
