Compression molding is a manufacturing process used to shape materials, such as plastics or composites, by placing them into a heated mold cavity. The material is then compressed under pressure between two mold halves, causing it to conform to the shape of the mold. After sufficient heating and pressure, the material cures or hardens, and the finished part is removed. While not directly a cybersecurity term, understanding compression molding is important in the context of hardware security, as the physical integrity of devices can affect their vulnerability to tampering or attacks.
