The CNPD, or Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données, is Luxembourg’s National Commission for Data Protection. It is the independent authority responsible for monitoring and enforcing data protection laws in Luxembourg, including the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The CNPD supervises how personal data is processed by both public and private organizations, handles complaints from individuals, conducts investigations, and issues guidance on best practices for data security and privacy. The CNPD also collaborates with other European data protection authorities to ensure a consistent approach to data privacy across the EU. Its mission is to protect individuals’ fundamental rights and freedoms regarding their personal data.
