3D refers to three-dimensional objects or representations, meaning they have height, width, and depth. In technology and cybersecurity contexts, 3D often describes physical items created using 3D printing, such as custom hardware components or device enclosures. For example, a 3D-printed bezel is a plastic frame manufactured to fit new buttons or controls into an existing car dashboard. 3D printing allows for rapid prototyping and customization, which can be useful for both legitimate modifications and, in some cases, unauthorized hardware tampering.
