1G network refers to the first generation of mobile telecommunications technology, introduced in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These networks used analog radio signals for voice communication and were the foundation for mobile phone usage. 1G networks provided basic voice services but lacked data transmission capabilities, encryption, and robust security features, making calls susceptible to eavesdropping and fraud. Due to their analog nature and limited capacity, 1G networks have been replaced by more advanced digital generations such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, which offer better quality, security, and support for data services. Today, 1G is considered obsolete.
