The TOR Network, short for The Onion Router, is a privacy-focused system that routes internet traffic through a series of volunteer-operated servers, called nodes, to conceal users’ identities and online activities. By encrypting data multiple times and sending it through several relays, TOR makes it extremely difficult for anyone to trace the origin or destination of the traffic. This network is commonly used to access the internet anonymously, bypass censorship, and protect sensitive communications. While TOR is a valuable tool for privacy and free expression, it can also be misused for illegal activities due to its high level of anonymity.
