A DLL, or Dynamic Link Library, is a type of file used by Windows operating systems to store reusable code and resources that multiple programs can access simultaneously. While DLLs help software run efficiently by sharing functions, they can also be exploited by attackers. Malicious software, known as a DLL implant, can be hidden inside a DLL file and loaded onto a victim’s computer. This allows cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access, execute harmful actions, or steal sensitive data without being easily detected.
